The littoral industrialization in Dunkerque has begun in 1950/1960’s. French-speaking workers arrived massively in the last Flemish- speaking area in France. They were installed in private housing estates inside old Flemish villages. They now are majority and close to be the only ones. Flemish-speaking people are old, there great-children do not speak Flemish or are not really interested in. The Flemish language is slowly dying in France…
